Following the weekend’s violence and tragic loss of life in Charlottesville, Va., Colorado gubernatorial candidate Mike Johnston and director Matt Shakman have decided to postpone tonights Q and A with Johnston campaign supporters.

“As it does for many Americans, this weekend’s violence still weighs heavy on my heart,” Johnston said. “And while the movement we’re building around this campaign is a crucial part of reconnecting people across the state as a way to heal these divides, and while connecting around beautiful pieces of art and story that compel us, like Game of Thrones, are some of the things that bind us together now and going forward, tonight it seemed more important for us to devote ourselves to the work of healing a hurting country.

That’s why Matt and I have decided to postpone tonight’s event. Matt is delighted to talk to Coloradans about his work and we will find a way to reschedule for the future.

For tonight, let’s focus on healing.”

Donors will be contacted and offered refunds or tickets to the rescheduled event.
